Heaven & Hell
In this film, I’ve sought to create a multi-sensory audit of a world in collapse, bridging the widening chasm between political hypocrisy and our fractured social reality. By centering the film on the recurring motif of a fraying flag, I wanted to expose the terrifying fragility of democracy as it buckles under the weight of human greed. I chose to set this human turmoil against the indifferent majesty of nature—where falling snow and rising oceans serve as a silent witness to our choices. Complemented by Veryan’s haunting soundscape and Liz Helman’s narration, the work stands as a cinematic elegy for the marginalized. Ultimately, it is a poetic reminder that while the powerful debate our future, the heaviest burden is always borne by those least responsible for the crisis.

Spill a Little Tea
Spill a Little Tea reimagines Delaroche’s The Execution of Lady Jane Grey as a contemporary act of witnessing and resistance. The work draws on the quiet tension of the original painting, transforming it into a space where suppressed voices rise to the surface. “Spilling tea” becomes both confession and revelation—stories once hidden now shared, honored, and believed. This piece stands for women across time who have been unjustly killed, abused, or silenced. By revisiting a historical moment of innocence and powerlessness, the work insists on remembrance, accountability, and the urgent necessity of speaking truths that were never meant to disappear.

Can the brothers reconcile with each other after a deep misunderstanding causes a rift between them? Will they be separated for life? The film tells of family ties and forgiveness, which are both central to the spirit of Hari Raya. Memories of the Future
"Memories of the Future" is a cinematic reflection on the growing crisis of space debris, blending science, metaphor, and artistic abstraction. The film is presented from the perspective of a child—a future Earthling—who looks back at humanity’s actions with both wonder and concern. This perspective shapes the visual style: everything is slightly exaggerated, much like a child’s drawing, but rendered in a futuristic way. The satellites appear oversized, the debris fields impossibly dense, and the vastness of space feels surreal. It is a new era of storytelling, where scientific reality meets the boundless imagination of a child. At the heart of the film is a seemingly insignificant object—a single bolt. It drifts through space, small and unassuming against the backdrop of immense orbital structures. But its presence is deceptive. The bolt represents overlooked dangers, a silent consequence of human negligence. As it moves through the cosmos, it ultimately cracks a camera lens, distorting the view—a metaphorical warning that ignoring a problem does not make it disappear. Like a tiny mistake that spirals into disaster, the bolt embodies the unintended consequences of human actions. The film’s aesthetic is deeply influenced by classical opera and ballet, using Ludwig van Beethoven’s Symphony No. 7, 2nd Movement to transform the slow-motion collision of debris into a haunting "space ballet." The choice of music elevates the visuals, creating a dreamlike yet unsettling atmosphere where beauty and destruction coexist. By incorporating real audio recordings—Sputnik 1’s signal, abstract radio transmissions, and Earth's magnetic field sounds—the film merges fiction with reality, grounding its imaginative visuals in scientific authenticity. The child’s voice, generated artificially, adds an emotional layer, as if the future is speaking directly to the past.

Not A Cake
In a sugary, pastel-toned paradise, K lives an idyllic life governed by a charming, handcrafted stop-motion aesthetic. Every detail of his world is picture-perfect, yet deeply unsettling. K soon uncovers the horrifying truth of his existence: he is trapped in an "edible nightmare" where every object—from his morning alarm clock to the steak on his dinner plate—is made of sponge cake and cream. Desperate for any physical sensation that feels genuine, K’s artificial reality ruptures when a hyper-realistic cat appears. The animal is a literal glitch in his universe, possessing a tangible texture entirely foreign to K’s soft, frosted surroundings.Driven by curiosity, K follows the creature and tumbles directly off the edges of his miniature set. He awakens in the cold, industrial expanse of a modern film studio. Surrounded by automated cameras and looming smartphones, K faces a devastating revelation. He is not a sentient being, but merely manufactured "content" designed for passive digital consumption.Fleeing the studio, K breaks through into the real world. For the first time, he experiences the raw, unfiltered grit of true existence. He feels the sharp bite of cold rain on his human skin. He tastes the rich, spicy, and salty reality of a hot bowl of bibimbap. He is finally real.Yet, this hard-won relief is instantly shattered. In a chilling meta-twist, K’s moment of awakening is suddenly framed by a smartphone user interface. A torrent of virtual "like" icons cascades across his face. Somewhere in the real world, an indifferent viewer swipes upward on their screen. Instantly, K vanishes into the digital ether, seamlessly replaced by yet another mindless, algorithmically generated cake-cutting ASMR video. Not A Cake is a haunting critique of modern digital culture. It examines the quiet violence of passive viewing and questions the nature of authenticity in a world where human suffering is reduced to a disposable, three-second swipe.
