A story told through symbols that represent marks of the past, the present and the power of ancestry, breaking stigmas and bringing reflections. The Horse Whisperer
The Horse Whisperer is an immersive short film about the life of Jean François Pignon, a man from humble beginnings in the South of France, who was captivated as a teenager by Gazelle, a white horse his father gave him. In the film he recounts the incredibly strong bond he formed with Gazelle and how he began to develop an extraordinary ability to communicate with her. We learn of his brave response to the tragedy of her loss. But through this adversity he developed his connection with other horses, which leads him to build up a troupe of remarkable horses. He describes his love for each horse as being equal but different, as it is with his children. As Jean François Pignon reveals exactly how he manages to achieve his unique bond and wordless communication with his horses - and all horses - we discover that it is these creatures’ extreme sensitivity that allows them to ‘read’ humans in an instant. We learn that you cannot lie to a horse and as we witness Pignon emanate a sense of serenity and calm, we understand that his state of being is what allows the horses to fully trust him – a state of being that perhaps we could all learn something from.

OiAu adore meeting everyone who comes into her field of vision. Today OiAu lies on the lawn, sees clouds and invites them to visit. The clouds do not respond. She asks herself out loud: why do clouds walk in the sky and not on the streets, that on the earth she would be able to lure them into visits. At this moment, Sad Camel appears and answers the question. OiAu doubts that he can know anything about clouds, because he cannot fly. Sad Camel is offended and says that he can sail and that is why he is called the ship of the desert. OiAu cannot believe it, because Sad Camel does not look like a ship at all. He has neither a captain nor a ship's cook. She thinks that he looks more like a desert fish than a ship of the desert. Professor returns home and, trying to smooth things over, says that being a desert fish is wonderful. Sad Camel agrees, but states that in reality he has long dreamed of being a cloud. OiAu dreams Sad Camel is jumping on the clouds, imagining himself as a cloud. He heads towards his homeland, the Gobi Desert, but suddenly begins to fall down. Mustafa - true story of a Tiger
My documentary is about Mustafa, a man-eating Tiger in the jungles of Pilibhit, Uttar Pradesh, India who had been ordered to be killed on-sight. Habitat loss and increase in population density have forced animals like Mustafa to come out of the jungle and become a man-eater. These tigers are framed for the crime they have never committed. The documentary showcases a detailed description about what goes on in a rescue operation in the forests of India and how the forest department deals with the hurdles while saving the animal as well as protecting the humans residing locally in or near the areas. The documentary shows how Mustafa was rescued by Dr Utkarsh Shukla and his team along with all the constraints faced by them. Dr Utkarsh Shukla has been working as a Deputy Director of Lucknow Zoo, Uttar Pradesh, India. He has been rescuing over 150 animals in distress for a span of 25 years now involving several Leopards, Tigers, two Dolphins, a Rhino and many others. My documentary was shot in India for which I had to travel back to the jungles of Pilibhit where the incident took place. This project is close to my heart as Dr. Utkarsh Shukla is my father and the man behind saving the lives of so many wild animals. The shoot took place in summer of 2022 in Pilibhit, Dudhwa National park and Lucknow zoo in Uttar Pradesh, India. The documentary was shot on a Nikon D850, as it was difficult to take any crew in the interiors of the forest, let alone travel back to India with me. The shoot lasted 15 days which was later edited with the help of my classmate Viraj Dhorajiya who is the main editor of the documentary. The music was done by Solmi Kim and mix and master was performed by Prajuwal Prakash. My head of department Lee-jane has been a great support to me, helping me develop the story. My cinematography faculty Peter Bathurst helped me before the shoot, making me understand how to plan my visuals beforehand which made the editing easier. I would like to thank the forest department of Uttar Pradesh, Dudhwa National Park and Pilibhit tiger reserve, including all the officials that were a part of the operation to rescue Mustafa, to take out time and give their precious insights and intricate details for this Documentary.
