We learn about Raymond Antrobus’ emotional journey growing up deaf and how his love of language and poetry led him to help young people avoid the challenges he faced. Following Raymond’s negative experience of the education system in his East London neighbourhood he now works in schools, helping deaf children accept their condition and unlock their potential. We see how much Raymond values the power of communication and the importance of inclusion rather than feeling like an outsider. He treasures the spoken word and the effect of reading his poetry to an audience. We see the power of language to connect people, break down barriers and provide a source of inspiration. Michael suddenly disappears with his single mother, and Ronan is forced to survive the struggles of primary school life on his own. Ronan begins to receive letters from Michael which help him with his current issues. One day these letter stop. Ronan sets out to find Michael’s new home and what has happened to him. Through this adventure he discovers the ultimate demise of his best friend.

Bea
During the lockdown caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, Bea finds herself confined to her apartment, isolated from the outside world. At first, try to maintain a sense of normality by following a daily routine: exercise, remote work, video calls with friends and family. However, as the days pass, loneliness and anxiety begin to take over, bringing out his deepest fears. His mind reels under the pressure of isolation and extraordinary situation. The nights are the hardest. While silence envelops the apartment, Beatrice begins to hear disturbing noises and see shadows that turn out to be only figments of her imagination. His mental state slowly deteriorates, fueled by paranoia and anguish. He begins to suspect that there is something sinister hidden in his apartment, but it is nothing more than the manifestation of his fears and stress. When a vaccine is found, the authorities force the entire population to take it, including Beatrice. Hoping that the vaccine can bring some normality back to his life, he undergoes the treatment. However, the days pass and Beatrice begins to develop strange feelings of anxiety and paranoia related to the vaccine and the isolation situation. Each dose increases his terror and his hallucinations become more vivid. The border between reality and delirium is becoming increasingly thin. Beatrice keeps a diary in which she writes down her confused thoughts and growing fears. The diary becomes a refuge, but also a chronicle of his descent into madness. She often dreams of being chased or surveilled, believing that the authorities are monitoring her through the vaccine. The border between reality and delirium becomes increasingly thin. Bea is convinced that there is a conspiracy against her orchestrated through the vaccine. He begins to keep a diary in which he writes down his confused thoughts and his growing fears. Her sanity finally crumbles when a doctor arrives to administer another dose of the vaccine. Bea, in the grip of paranoia, believes that the doctor is part of a plot to poison her. In a fit of madness and terror, she kills him, convinced she is defending herself from a non-existent threat. This tragic act is the pinnacle of her descent into madness, a reflection of the strain and isolation the pandemic has inflicted on her.
